4th of February, 2022 – Only two weeks after joining forces to beat ODM leader Raila Odinga, the new political partnership between Deputy President William Ruto and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi is on the rocks.
As far as the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is concerned, the two don’t trust each other following the merger.
Mudavadi is requesting to be chosen as the presidential flagbearer under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, according to reports, because he is the true owner of KKA, having reserved the name in 2021 while still a member of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
However, Ruto’s allies are pushing their boss to vie for the presidency under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to avoid future betrayal.
According to Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, UDA pioneer aspirants eyeing respective seats in the August 9, General Election won’t vie under KKA.
“We will only have a coalition agreement in which both parties will append their signatures.
“William Ruto will run for the presidency on a UDA ticket not Kenya Kwanza Alliance ticket,” Barasa stated.
