ABU DHABI, 8th June, 2022 (WAM) — Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), separately met with Salah Mohammed Al Baijan, Kuwaiti Ambassador to the UAE,
Khemissi Arif, Ambassador of Algeria to the UAE, and Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, at the FNC’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
During the meetings, all sides discussed their overall bilateral relations, strengthening their parliamentary cooperation and reinforcing coordination on matters of mutual concern.
During their meeting, Al Baijan greeted Ghobash, as his term as Kuwait’s Ambassador to the UAE is coming to an end.
Ghobash then lauded Al Baijan’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
During his meeting with Ghobash, Arif highlighted the longstanding ties between the UAE and Algeria, as well as the importance of parliamentary cooperation, exchanging expertise and visits, and the work of parliamentary friendship committees. He also invited Ghobash to visit his country.
During his meeting with Isomata, Ghobash stressed that the bilateral ties between their countries have been based on mutual respect since their establishment in 1972.
They also discussed ways of strengthening their parliamentary cooperation, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at exchanging parliamentary expertise and best practices.
Ghobash highlighted the importance of the cooperation between the FNC and the Japanese parliament, noting their key role in enhancing the relations between the two countries. Isomat invited Ghobash to visit Japan
