A search has been initiated for a lady who is reported to have disappeared from Camps Bay beach late on Saturday, January 21.
Luke van Riet, commander of the Bakoven station of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), verified that they were dispatched to the beach at 23:01 on Saturday.
Van Riet stated, “Police responded to the scene, where witnesses stated that at approximately 20:30, an unidentified white female believed to be between 45 and 50 years old and wearing a white bikini had entered the water, and they had not observed her exiting the water.”
“A beach towel, a dress, a bag containing personal items, and a hat belonging to the lady were left behind on the beach. “There is nothing in the bag that could be used to identify the female,” Van Riet stated.
Van Riet said that no missing individual matching the woman’s description had been reported.
