To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Seattle Animal Shelter, assist in placing 50 pets with new owners and get 50% off adoption fees.
On Saturday, June 25, from 1 to 5 p.m., the shelter at 2061 15th Ave W. in Seattle will have an open house and give all locals 50% off adoption fees up until that time.
Since 1972, the shelter has changed from being a final resting place for animals without homes to a stopover for animals en route to reunion and new forever homes.
40 dogs, 20 cats, 20 rabbits and guinea pigs, one pigeon, and one snake are among the animals up for adoption.
Visit this page to see them or stop by on June 25 to meet them in person. You can take advantage of tours of the shelter, refreshments, raffle prizes, historical exhibits, and advice on pet care in addition to the 50% off adoption fees.
