With barely six days remaining until the May 29 inauguration, security agencies have received a crucial plea to take swift action against any opposition members making inciteful and treasonable remarks.
The Director of the now-defunct Diaspora Directorate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Ade Omole, emphasized the need for immediate intervention.
Omole specifically highlighted the threats posed by certain opposition members on social media, who continue to proclaim their candidate as the country’s president and express intentions to disrupt the inauguration.
In light of this, Omole urged security agencies not to hesitate in apprehending any opposition members found to be making such inflammatory comments.
Tinubu’s Victory Upheld as Legitimate and Constitutionally Valid
According to Ade Omole, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, emerged victorious through a free, fair, and credible election, duly declared as the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
Omole, a prominent figure within the APC, stated unequivocally that nothing can impede the scheduled May 29 inauguration of Sen. Bola Tinubu as the President-elect.
Asserting that Tinubu’s inauguration is a matter of utmost importance, Omole emphasized its sanctity, as it is fully supported by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He also expressed awareness of a few disgruntled individuals who have been spreading inciteful and treasonable statements on social media, while confidently relying on the capacity of security agencies to decisively address any breaches.
Omole called upon the security agencies to promptly apprehend such individuals.
Diaspora Support and Preparations for Inauguration
Ade Omole expressed gratitude towards progressive Nigerians in the diaspora who endorsed the Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket, acknowledging their significant contributions in realizing various democratic achievements.
Furthermore, he revealed that Nigerians residing abroad have begun returning to the country in anticipation of the May 29 inauguration of Tinubu.
Omole applauded their active participation, stating that they have attended election tribunal sittings to demonstrate their support and are actively preparing not only for the inauguration but also for involvement in Tinubu’s administration.
International Congratulations and Enhanced Bilateral Relations
Omole conveyed his appreciation for the congratulatory messages pouring in from the international community, highlighting the global recognition of Tinubu’s impending presidency.
He assured that the Nigerian government, under Tinubu’s leadership, would foster improved bilateral relationships with other nations, aiming to strengthen cooperation and collaboration on various fronts.
