Thursday, February 3, 2022 – ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi has raised concerns over President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government funding of ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s campaigns ahead of the August polls.
Speaking yesterday during Kenya Kwanza rallies in Westlands, Mudavadi sensationally faulted Uhuru’s financing of Raila whenever he holds his Azimio rallies.
The former vice-president said the government injects KSh15 million every time the Opposition leader holds a rally to drum up support for his presidential bid.
“Azimio is a government project. Nowadays, they hold their rallies in huge tents which are paid for by the government. Kenyans are currently suffering, the economy is battered, but the government chooses to use KSh15 million for only two hours in every rally,” said Mudavadi.
While faulting President Uhuru’s government for bypassing the plight of Kenyans, Mudavadi stated that Azimio La Umoja is meant for the self-preservation of some leaders.
He called upon Kenyans to reject the movement stating that the Uhuru-Raila-led movement was being fronted to take care of the interests of a few unnamed elite groups.
Mudavadi further said he ditched the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) after realizing that it was being funded by the president to impose a presidential puppet on Kenyans.
