Prince Harry’s caustic autobiography “Spare,” which describes his ongoing conflicts with the royal family, was mocked by an indie bookseller by pairing it with Bella Mackie’s book “How to Kill Your Family.”
The two novels are displayed side by side at Bert’s Books’ front display, which is located in Swindon, England.
The merchant said, “Anyway, we do have several spare copies of Spare if you want one.”
According to BBC, shop owner Alex Call, 35, said his employees believed the display would be “very light-hearted and make a few people grin.”
Employees at the store told the outlet they did not anticipate Harry’s book to remain a success for very long, despite the fact that it dominates headlines.
Employee Michael Ritchie commented, “The price is £28 which I believe is pretty excessive for a book.” When asked, “Actually, I don’t know whether I’m going to pay for it or (I’ll) wait for the paperback,” many will reply.
Harry and Meghan have received “a lot of attention already,” according to Ritchie, so readers may decide to turn away because they’ve had enough. Additionally, he believed it could be targeted more at American readers than British ones.
Twitter users praised the setup and were ready to crack jokes in the comments section of the shop’s first post.

We recently displayed our best-selling titles in the window… The store responded with an upside-down face emoji and said, “People are making all kinds of crazy inferences and connections.
Mackie posted an image of the post on her Instagram account. Her book “How to Kill Your Family” was the best-selling book at the bookstore in 2022.
“I’d want to thank the 8000 individuals that emailed this to me today. What a privilege, and thank you @bertsbooks,” Mackie wrote.
The publisher of Prince Harry’s contentious autobiography said Tuesday that it has broken the record for the best-selling nonfiction book ever in the United Kingdom.
Harry has aggressively marketed the publication of his book, which exposes his conflicts with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles, as well of his difficulties dealing with the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
The book goes into further detail on how Harry and Meghan Markle’s union caused conflict with the royal family and offers other shocking discoveries.
