Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has expressed his disapproval of the recent appointment of a special investigator tasked with probing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The appointment was made by President Bola Tinubu, who cited the Nigerian constitution’s anti-corruption objectives as the basis for this decision.
Nevertheless, concerns have been raised about the potential vulnerabilities and limitations of relying on a single individual for such a crucial task.
He suggested that a more realistic and credible approach would involve constituting a presidential committee comprising independent financial experts, seasoned accountants, and auditors.
