Tuesday evening, renowned Chicago-area sports fan Sister Jean threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field before the Cubs’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
A month after her 103rd birthday, the chaplain threw an underhand pass to Clark, the Cubs’ mascot, from her wheelchair while wearing a personalized No. 103 jersey.
After receiving her pitch, Clark embraced her as the Wrigley Field crowd erupted in excitement.

Sister Jean, who was born in 1919, gained to prominence in 2018 as a result of her public support for the Loyola Ramblers men’s basketball team during the NCAA Tournament.
She served as a lucky charm for the team, which reached the Final Four that season for only the second time in its history.
Tuesday, the chaplain also served as a lucky charm for the Cubs, who defeated the Phillies 2-1.
