Former Blue Peter presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Helen Skelton, is rumoured to be the BBC’s next choice to present the spin-off show, It Takes Two.
The presenter, who made it to the grand final with professional dancer Gorka Marquez last year, could temporarily fill in for Janette Manrara, who is expecting her first child with Aljaž Škorjanec later this year.
However, since Rylan Clark has stepped down from his position on the show, a permanent role may be available, and insiders suggest that BBC bosses think Skelton could be the ideal candidate.
Sources say that Skelton has held talks with BBC bosses and that her previous experience as a Strictly contestant would make her the perfect fit for the job.
The insider added that she is a very experienced and popular presenter who was a hit with the crew, the top bosses, the make-up teams and the production teams.
Skelton’s warmth and charisma captured the hearts of Strictly fans, and as a former contestant, she knows what the celebrities are going through.
Skelton first found fame on the BBC children’s show Blue Peter in 2008, and she has since hosted Countryfile since 2014.
Last year, after giving birth to her third child, her marriage to Richie Myler ended, which turned her world upside down. Since then, the rugby star has started a relationship with Stephanie Thirkill, who recently gave birth to their first child.
Rylan Clark stepped down from his role as the host of It Takes Two after hosting the BBC2 show for four years, and fans believe he will front the upcoming Big Brother revival.
