SWISS launches Premium Economy to Johannesburg

Johannesburg has received SWISS International Air Lines’ brand-new premium economy cabin class on its Airbus A340-300 aircraft. The inaugural aircraft with the new cabin class departed Zurich, Switzerland for Johannesburg on January 24.

Airlink will restart flights between South Africa and Madagascar.

According to Simple Flying, by April of this year, all four SWISS Airbus A340-300s will be outfitted with the new cabin class and be bookable for the destinations served by this fleet.

Currently, the airline runs 26 weekly flights on the A340-300 from Zurich to Hong Kong, Johannesburg, and Chicago.

SWISS’s Chief Commercial Officer, Tamur Goudarzi Pour, stated that the strong reaction obtained from Premium-Economy class passengers on its Boeing 777-300ER fleet has only increased the airline’s desire to provide the product on more routes.

“Our new Premium-Economy class has quickly become an incredibly popular way to travel,” added Pour.

Among the amenities that travellers can anticipate in Premium Economy are:

Comfortable seats with straightforward adjustment

Before takeoff, a broader food variety, including an alcoholic-free welcome drink.

15.6-inch screens, noise-canceling headphones, and the newest movies and television programs provide entertainment.
