Deborah and Geoff Inskip visited the isolated hamlet of Winton in central west Queensland with their pet dog, Maggie, as part of their outback vacation.

Maggie, however, got detachable from her collar while the Sydney family was visiting a tourist area, and she ran away from her owners into the bush.

Maggie the boxer was lost in the Australian outback for eight days before being found with her owners. The touching reunion was filmed on camera.

Maggie became dislodged from her collar while the Inskip family was on vacation in Winton, Queensland’s central west, and ran away.

Maggie rushed towards a creek before she vanished, as the Inskips recounted.

Ms. Inskip told the ABC: “With the recent rain, we were sinking up to our knees in muck; it was very difficult to find her.”

I abandoned up hope that she had escaped the brook.

The next day, a Facebook page was created in a frantic attempt to locate the family’s dog.

Ms. Inskip stated in a post with a photo of Maggie, “My name is Deb, and my husband Geoff and I are going from Sydney in our caravan with our wonderful dog Maggie on a vacation of a lifetime.”

We can’t return home without her.

The inhabitants of Winton, a town with a population of 1,000, attempted to assist the Inskips.

Maggie and her paw prints were spotted in the outback, as reported by callers.

A Facebook page was created in an attempt to locate Maggie (pictured). Before their dog was recovered, the Inskips provided updates on the page with sightings, paw prints, and information about her.

Local Winton residents have claimed sightings of the beloved boxer in the nearby region.

To entice Maggie, the family placed their fragrant clothing and food on the ground.

They dusted the ground with flour in the hopes that she would step on it, and set up surveillance cameras provided by the local police.

The Inskips were prepared to remain in Winton for an entire month to retrieve their boxer, but on the eighth day of the hunt, prints were discovered near the airport.

Maggie was then discovered by locals, leading her owners to rush to the airport.

They observed Maggie racing through a nearby bush and shouted out to her.

Then, Ms. Inskip was captured embracing the dog as she ran into her arms.

Maggie was reunited with her owners after an eight-day separation. In a social media message, the Inskips praised the Winton community for their assistance.

The family said they had located the dog and thanked the neighborhood for its assistance.

“We are overjoyed. Maggie was discovered after eight days in the Queensland outback, according to Ms. Inskip.

We must appreciate the extraordinary, compassionate community of Winton, which went above and beyond to assist us.
