Aldi, the budget supermarket, has introduced a new range of tea which combines biscuit flavours with the traditional hot drink.
For just £1.49 for a box of 40 bags, shoppers can purchase the new Diplomat Jaffa Tea, which features the flavour of the classic Jaffa Cake in a brew.
The description of the new tea states that “the rich chocolate flavours are followed by a zesty aromatic orange, reminiscent of biting into a Jaffa orange cake”.
In addition to the Jaffa flavour, Aldi is also launching two other biscuit-flavoured teas: Diplomat Salted Caramel Tea and Diplomat Biscuit Tea, also priced at £1.49 for 40 bags.
The salted caramel tea has been described as having “a rich and warming toastie caramel brew”, which is perfect for those with a sweet tooth.
Meanwhile, the biscuit flavour “combines the malty taste of biscuit and tea into one without the mess”.
The new products will be available in all Aldi stores from May 15, and customers can save almost 50 per cent when switching from the Malty Biscuit Brew of Yorkshire Tea.
Although the products have not yet been launched, many people have already expressed their interest in trying them.
A TikTok user called Lowcalorie_foodhunter uploaded a video of the teas, which received many comments of excitement from hundreds of people.
People have been eager to sample the different flavours, with some even declaring their preference for certain options.
Laura Bain said: “I tried the biscuit and jaffa one. Both are really tasty, but think I prefer jaffa.
I want to get the salted caramel one now.” Meanwhile, Redsnewteef typed: “Just had the biscuit 1, It’s superb….. Yorkshire tea dupe!!”
