Teenager riding an unlicensed motorcycle on one wheel without headlights hit an Uber driver

A teenager was driving an unlicensed motorcycle with one wheel and no headlights when he collided with an Uber driver, who was so frightened he vomited.

Saturday around 6:15 p.m., a 17-year-old dirt bike rider miraculously evaded major harm after crashing at an intersection in the city’s south.

CCTV footage captured the motorcycle speeding through the residential street while allegedly doing a wheelie trick before to the crash; the rider’s driving is the focus of the police inquiry.

The Uber driver, a 23-year-old white Toyota Camry driver, was not wounded, but witnesses claimed he was so traumatised after witnessing the passenger thrown from his bicycle that he vomited and had to be taken away by family.

‘He went flying about thirty metres down the road,’ witness and resident of the street Rob Rowles told 7News.

Mr Rowles said the rider suffered cuts and severe road rash to the skin along his ribs.

‘His mouth was bleeding… I’m pretty sure the helmet saved his life.’

He stayed with the rider until paramedics arrived and the boy’s parents ‘came running down the road, they were pretty upset, obviously’.

The teenager was transported to Royal Perth Hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Two other residents, Seb and Nick, who coach a children’s soccer team on an oval off the same road, claimed it was usual for motorcyclists to race down the street and perform stunts.
