The Bengals linebacker was seen on camera yelling in frustration about the Joseph Ossai penalty for hitting Patrick Mahomes out of bounds on Sunday, which led to the Chiefs’ game-winning field goal.
Pratt yelled, “It’s the motherf-kin’ final series!” What the ****. You touched the quarterback? Why the f-k?
The ball was moved from the Bengals’ 43-yard line to the 28 after the penalty with 8 seconds remaining. The Chiefs won 23-20 and advanced to the Super Bowl 2023 with to Harrison Butker’s composed kick from 45 yards out.
Prior to the penalty, Ossai, 22, had a solid game, constantly applying pressure to a hampered Mahomes. Ossai was visibly devastated by the game-changing penalty as CBS cameras saw him on the bench after the game with his head in his hands. He also looked to have injured his knee during the action, as medical personnel responded to him.
In reaction to a posting of the video, Pratt, 26, remarked on Instagram, “Yep people will post anything on social media for likes and views.” “My sentiments are sometimes raw and true. If you love something as much as I do, you may sometimes say something rashly. But I am aware of the kind of teammate I am. What kind of a guy I am, too. No love is lost, I promise. I’m in pain. Keep in mind that some people will hate you, will criticize you, will attempt to break you, but I will continue to maintain my ground.
Ossai was joined in the locker room by several Bengals players, including former Giant B.J. Hill, as a show of solidarity.
An emotional Ossai told reporters, “These men mean a lot to me and to know that they have my back is very… it’s giving me peace right now.
“Having my teammates’ support was wonderful. I must draw lessons from my mistakes and remember never to approach the quarterback while he is near to the sideline. I need to perform better.
Ossai was selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Texas.
