Police say a thief wearing an Amazon delivery vest entered a Queens building and assaulted an employee while stealing an armful of packages from the lobby in broad daylight.
The brazen thief struck at 10:18 a.m. on November 9 at a building in the vicinity of 44th Avenue and 74th Street, where he was captured on surveillance images removing boxes from a common area, police said Wednesday.
Police said the man also entered the garage, where he was accosted by a 49-year-old employee.
The thief allegedly struck the employee in the face, resulting in a scuffle between the two men.
Investigators say the package thief fled on foot with several boxes northbound on 7th Street toward Woodside Avenue after the altercation.
The offender was seen on camera stealing items while posing as an Amazon courier.
