The City of Cape Town has announced the list of roadways in the Central Business District (CBD) that will be affected by President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday, 9 February.
Due to rehearsals for the major event, several roads will be closed from Monday through Wednesday.
“Drivers should be aware of the road closures and arrange their trips appropriately. In addition, motorists should be aware that parking will be prohibited in certain places, according to the City.
Between February 6 and 8, the following roads will be closed from 6:00 pm to 23:59 pm for rehearsals:
Parade Street between Darling and Caledon Street Closing Parade: Corporation Street from Longmarket to Castle Street Castle Street from Corporation to Buitenkant Street Darling Street between Buitenkant and Lower Plein Street
On 9 February, the day of SONA, the following highways will be closed: (6:00 until 23:59)
From Lower Plein Street to Corporation Street on Darling Street
Longmarket Street between Plein and Corporation Street Corporation Street between Longmarket and Caledon Street Longmarket Street between Plein to Buitenkant Street Parade Street from Albertus Street to Darling Street
