DETROIT — Three players and Detroit coach Dwane Casey were dismissed from Wednesday’s game following a skirmish between the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons.
Franz Wagner of Orlando was dismissed for a flagrant foul, while Killian Hayes and Hamadou Diallo of Detroit were ejected for their actions during the subsequent fight in front of the Pistons bench. Casey was ejected for contesting the judgment.
Wagner and Hayes were chasing a wayward Magic ball in the backcourt, with Wagner aware that Orlando would be penalized for a backcourt violation as soon as he touched the pass. As he delayed to allow the ball to go out of bounds, Hayes attempted to pass him along the sideline.
Wagner threw Hayes into the Detroit bench with a hip check. Every player on both teams was involved in the ensuing fight.
Hayes appeared to strike Wagner in the back of the head after regaining his feet.

The event occurred with 34 seconds remaining in the opening half. The Pistons held a 66-47 lead at halftime.
