To address the cost of living, Liz Truss intends to recruit an economist similar to Thatcher’s Alan Walters.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has come under fire for skipping a cabinet meeting in favor of a tropical island paradise party cruise aboard a lavish boat.

The Queensland premier took a few days off to attend Hamilton Island Race Week with Dr. Reza Adib, her lover, and other famous people aboard the Quantum boat.

Prior to this, Ms. Palaszczuk refuted allegations that she is a “part-time premier” who spends too much time hanging out with her lover.

Her decision to call off a Cabinet meeting was dubbed “unfathomable” by the opposition, but Labor branded the criticism as “puny and cheap.”

It was quite rare to call off a Cabinet meeting, according to David Crisafulli, leader of the Liberal National Party, and Deputy Premier Steven Miles should have presided in Ms. Palaszczuk’s place.

Everyone has the right to a vacation, but if the Premier doesn’t trust her deputy to manage affairs while she is gone, the interests of Queenslanders must take precedence over the luxurious getaway, he told the Courier Mail.

The deputy premier may preside over cabinet sessions “in the premier’s absence,” according to the Queensland Government’s Cabinet Manual.

However, that did not occur while Ms. Palaszczuk was on her opulent vacation, and no justification was provided.

According to Mr. Crisafulli, the cabinet’s function is essential to running the state, and it is customary everywhere that sessions be presided over by the deputy while the premier is absent.

According to Ms. Palaszczuk’s spokeswoman, she hasn’t taken much vacation time since the outbreak started.

When the opposition took the whole week off, he observed, “for the opposition to begrudge the premier a rare weekend off is petty and cheap even for them.”

The premier had to take yearly vacation in order to have a weekend off, the spokesperson said.

However, the LNP criticized the decision as “troubling” given Queensland’s housing, health, and cost of living challenges.

Ms. Palaszczuk’s actions, according to Mr. Crisafulli, were “soul-destroying” for Queenslanders caught up in multiple crises.

The deputy leader of the LNP added to the chorus by stating that cabinet meetings weren’t a “optional extra.”

Jarrod Bleijie referred to it as “unfathomable” that the premier’s presence aboard a superyacht caused the government to come to a standstill.

“Perhaps Annastacia Palaszczuk should sail off into the sunset and leave the reins to someone truly interested in doing the job,” he remarked. “If she’s that checked out she’d prefer halt government while she swans about with celebrities.”

Ms. Palaszczuk, according to Mr. Bleijie, needed to decide if she wanted to be a celebrity or the premier.

Attorney General Shannon Fentiman supported the premier, stating that she put in a lot of effort and took a little vacation without using any of the taxpayers’ money.

In spite of the fact that she made the statement while at a celebrity event, Ms. Palaszczuk said in June that she was not a “part-time premier” who overindulged in socializing.

When Ms. Palaszczuk and Dr. Adib arrived at the Logie Awards on the Gold Coast on June 19, she didn’t seem perturbed by the claims.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has come under fire from Queensland’s opposition leader David Crisafulli for calling off a Cabinet meeting so she could attend a lavish function.

When questioned by reporters about the allegations, Ms. Palaszczuk maintained that she was keeping up with her workload and that attending high-profile events was “part of her job.”

Seven days a week, Ms. Palaszczuk told 7News, “I work.”

The majority of these activities take place on weekends, so we could be at home watching television instead of being out here carrying out the duties that Queenslanders require of me.
