Tom Brady’s second retirement has already included kitten adoptions, lingerie modeling, and a promise to “explore many other aspects of life that have been temporarily set aside.”
His most recent expedition, though, may raise some doubts.
Brady was a guest speaker at Grant Cardone’s 10X Growth Con, a three-day event hosted by Cardone, whose name has been associated with charges and a lawsuit about investor misrepresentation. According to Cardone’s website, the conference was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas from February 14-16, and Brady spoke on the final day about the “intersection of sports and success,” according to a report on GCTV.com.
“Some may argue that this year’s Growth Con was the greatest ever,” tweeted Grant Cardone with a GOAT emoji at the end. Thank you, @TomBrady, for sharing your time with me and my #10X community today.

Stephen A. Smith of ESPN and Dana White, CEO of the UFC, also spoke at the event.
According to Cardone’s website, which offers early-bird tickets for the 2024 sales and marketing conference, tickets vary from $1,500 to $20,000 for the event. According to a video from the event that appeared on Twitter, flames and sparklers surrounded Brady on the platform as the 45-year-old thanked everyone in attendance while wearing a gray sweater, gray slacks, and a black cap.
Real estate news source The Real Deal has claimed in a series of articles that Cardone has been accused of “misleading investors.” In 2020, he and Cardone Capital were sued by a $10,000 investor in real estate funds. The lawsuit against Cardone, which was dismissed by a federal appeals court last year, was just reversed, according to The Real Deal.
The Real Deal has also mentioned a Palm Beach Post investigation regarding a Lake Worth apartment complex that overcharged its renters and had ties to Grant Cardone.
As a promoter and brand ambassador, Brady has also been affected by his investment in FTX last year. After FTX plummeted in November 2022, he, along with his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and other celebrity investors, were named in a class-action lawsuit. Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, has also been under house arrest since the collapse of the cryptocurrency market.
Twitter users responded negatively to Brady’s most recent post-retirement appearance. Cardone has already endorsed Brady as the greatest quarterback of all time, utilizing an Instagram video in 2018 and a Medium essay in 2019 as outlets. The video, dated Feb. 21, 2018, when Brady staged a fourth-quarter comeback against the Jaguars in the AFC Championship game, praised Brady for navigating the postseason win with “10 stitches in his hand, down 10 points against the best defense in the NFL”
Again, it demonstrates the importance of individual work, Cardone remarked in the video. “Decide to be a winner. Choose to be excellent. Choose to become the GOAT. Make the option that is the best of all time for you. Make that choice. Today, Tom Brady proved he is the greatest of all time.”
Cardone translated and appliedtwo Brady statements to his audience of businesses in his Medium piece. Two years later, he wrote about Brady again on his personal website, just before Brady led the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl in 2021.
Cardone added, “Tom Brady is undeniably one of the greatest football players of all time, with an incredible track record and list of accomplishments.” “He is also live proof that age is not a barrier if one is sufficiently driven and dedicated. As the Super Bowl approaches, everyone speculates whether this is Tom Brady’s final season.
“Anything is possible, but I’m not planning his retirement party any time soon, just as I’m nowhere near planning mine.”
Two years later, after Brady’s playing career had ended, the two shared the same stage.
