Tom Brady did not hold back following the Buccaneers’ latest defeat, a 35-7 humiliation at the hands of the 49ers that reduced Tampa Bay to 6-7 on the season.
In an interview with NFL reporter Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, Brady was shockingly frank about his emotions following the latest episode in this troubled season, in which he was photographed fleeing Levi’s Stadium without taking a shower.
According to the article, Brady added with a half-smile, “There are some things I don’t give a f—k about.” “F—- that! I’m headed home.”
Brady famously grew up in California as a 49ers fan, and Sunday’s game in Santa Clara was attended by a significant number of his friends and family. What could have been a joyful homecoming, however, ended in a rout at the hands of 49ers third-string quarterback Brock Purdy, who was taken with the penultimate pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and has been compared to Tom Brady for his own late draft status.
When asked how his fans reacted to the loss, Brady provided another direct response.
Brady stated, “I have no doubt that they fled.” “I do not want kids to be exposed to this filth. It was dreadful. We stunk.”
Brady completed 34 of 55 passes for 253 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions throughout the game. Brady is 33rd among NFL quarterbacks in yards per attempt (6.2) and 19th in passer rating for the season (88.9). Since Bruce Arians stepped down as head coach during the summer, the Buccaneers have struggled, falling from second in points per game in 2021 to 28th in 2022
On and off the field, Brady has endured a challenging year. After thirteen years of marriage, he just finalized his divorce with supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Reportedly, tensions escalated following Brady’s return to the NFL for his 23rd season this year, after he had first retired this offseason but changed his mind.
As the Buccaneers drag their way to another playoff appearance in the weak NFC South, the future Hall of Fame quarterback looked frustrated.
