Timothy Schofield, the brother of TV presenter Phillip Schofield, is set to be sentenced for child sex offences after being found guilty of 11 sexual offences involving a child.
The convictions were delivered after a trial at Exeter Crown Court.
During the trial, Schofield, a civilian police worker from Bath, Somerset, maintained that he had watched pornography with the boy, whom he claimed was over the age of 16 at the time.
He asserted that they had engaged in separate acts of masturbation but denied performing any sexual acts on the teenager.
However, the jury unanimously found Schofield guilty on all counts after more than five-and-a-half hours of deliberation.
Following his arrest and subsequent charges, Avon and Somerset Police dismissed Schofield from his job at the force’s headquarters in Portishead without notice.
Testimonies revealed that Schofield had informed his elder brother, Phillip, in September 2021 that he and the complainant had viewed pornography together.
In response to the guilty verdict, Phillip Schofield released a statement through his lawyer, expressing his primary concern for the wellbeing of the victim and their family.
He emphasized his commitment to protecting the victim and stated that he no longer considers Timothy Schofield his brother.
Timothy Schofield was found guilty of three counts of causing a child to watch sexual activity, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Mrs Justice Cutts remanded Timothy Schofield into custody following his convictions in April at Exeter Crown Court.
The sentencing will take place at Bristol Crown Court at 9:30 am on Friday.
