A knifeman attacked two Metropolitan Police officers in London’s West End today; one was critically hurt, and all three are now receiving medical care.
At before 6 a.m. this morning, just before dawn, the two male cops were assaulted after they were alerted to complaints of a man brandishing a sword near Leicester Square.
One of the cops reportedly sustained many injuries during the fight, leaving him gravely ill, while the other was apparently stabbed in the arm.
Although the police has not officially acknowledged it, a source informed MailOnline that one of the cops had been stabbed in the neck. They were each wearing their respective uniforms.
A guy in his 20s who was detained on suspicion of causing serious bodily injury and assaulting a medical professional received a Taser. He was brought to the hospital.
The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, denounced the incident, calling it “utterly awful,” and he encouraged anybody with information to call the police.
The cops do not have injuries that are life-threatening, Mr. Khan said. Detectives have started their investigation, however they are not treating the event as having any connection to terrorism.
Before the guy was stopped around the intersection of Shaftesbury Avenue and Great Windmill Street, it occurred near the intersection of Haymarket and Coventry Street.

Attacks on police will not be allowed, and any offenders will be apprehended and brought to justice, Mr. Khan stated.
I kindly request that anybody with knowledge come forward so that the perpetrator of this abhorrent act is made to face the full weight of the law.
