Two criminals perpetrated six armed robberies in the city within two hours on Tuesday morning, according to authorities. They were apprehended by police when their vehicle crashed in the Bronx.
Police said the pair traveled in a white Toyota Sienna minivan and stole victims of either personal goods, cash, or both.
Nobody was injured.
According to authorities, they began their spree shortly before 1 a.m. on Alstyne Avenue near 104th Street in Corona, Queens.
Minutes afterwards, they reportedly headed to the second murder scene, which was Queens Boulevard around 65th Street in Sunnyside, Queens.
Approximately 40 minutes later, they traveled to Brooklyn, where they allegedly robbed someone near North 11th Street and Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg.
In a white Toyota Sienna, the suspects traveled between boroughs before crashing near Cedar Avenue and West 179th Street in the Bronx.
They returned to Queens around 15 minutes later, targeting their second victim at the intersection of 72nd Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights, according to investigators.
At 2:40 a.m., they allegedly robbed a food-truck worker parked outside New York University’s Elmer Holmes Bobst Library on Washington Square South near LaGuardia Place, according to the police.
Around 3:10 a.m., they committed their final robbery on Seaman Avenue near West 204th Street in Inwood, Manhattan, according to authorities.
But their criminal spree came to a stop when they crashed their Toyota at Cedar Avenue and West 179th Street in University Heights, Bronx, where they were discovered by NYPD Aviation about 4 a.m.
Uncertain as to when authorities became aware of the suspects’ suspected robbery activities, a 34-year-old male was apprehended at the location, and a gun was seized inside the minivan’s glovebox, according to police.
A 24-year-old guy fled on foot, but police apprehended him in the courtyard of a Sedgwick Avenue building. Police reported that he, too, was brought into jail.
According to authorities, charges against both suspects are pending.
