ABU DHABI, 24th May, 2022 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, today received European Parliament’s Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Arab Peninsula (DARP) Hannah Neumann, who is currently visiting the UAE.
Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the visiting delegation and commending the deeply rooted ties between the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and European Union (EU) member countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting the overall cooperation between the UAE and EU countries, most notably in the areas of tolerance, peace, coexistence and human fraternity.
Sheikh Nahyan then highlighted the keenness of the UAE to promote global peace and stability, commending the joint statement by the EU and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on their strategic partnership aimed at strengthening their relations.
Neumann and her delegation presented their most sincere condolences on the passing of late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for being elected the President of the UAE.
The European Parliament delegation lauded the UAE’s efforts to promote the principles of human fraternity, coexistence and solidarity, which have resulted in several countries adopting the Human Fraternity Document as a national document in their educational curriculums.
