Stephanie Hanson, a mother of four from the UK, had an epiphany about her marriage while on a 10-day girl’s trip to Greece in May 2022 to celebrate her 40th birthday.
Hanson said that she realized that she had been miserable in her marriage for as long as she could remember.
She was having a great time with her girlfriends, and the thought of going back home to her husband was unbearable.
The realization came to her while she was by the hotel pool.
Hanson immediately ended her marriage upon her return home.
She said that she knew she had made the right decision when she saw her husband’s reaction.
The newly-single Hanson saw the end of her marriage as an opportunity to give herself a total makeover.
She began exercising and watching her diet and lost 70 pounds, going from weighing 238 pounds to 168 pounds.
She said it was hard at first, but the motivation of being freshly single carried her through.
In July, Hanson met a man named David through Facebook Dating, and they have been smitten ever since.
She said they hit it off right away, and he loved her just as she was.
Hanson believes that if she hadn’t gone on that holiday, she would still be stuck in a loveless marriage.
She is now happier than ever and grateful for the opportunity to start anew.
