Venue meant to host Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto and his Kwanza brigade for rally in Kilifi demolished ahead of meeting

The venue meant to host the Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade for a rally in Kilifi has been demolished ahead of the meeting.
The venue was dismantled by rowdy youth led by Pamoja Africa Alliance (PAA) Youth Leader Samir Nyundo.
The youth were allegedly hired by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
In a video circulating on social media, Nyundo said he oversaw the dismantling of the venue to host Ruto since the podium was mounted on his family land.
“I want to send the message to the deputy president, he can hold meetings all over the country, but he should not interfere with family issues even if we differ politically.”
“This is our family land and he has no permission to hold a political rally in our family land,” Nyundo said.
Kilifi North MP Owen Baya has since blamed Governor Amason Kingi for the unfortunate incident.
Kingi, who is the founder of the Pamoja Africa Alliance party, has always been at loggerhead with Ruto.
PAA is also among the more than 13 political parties that are supporting the Azimio la Umoja led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
