In a recent interview with The Post at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate for 2024, criticized former President Trump on several issues.
Ramaswamy claimed that Trump missed the opportunity to eliminate affirmative action with Executive Order 11246, which mandates race-based quotas for government contractors.
He also accused Trump of failing to use military force against cartels at the southern border and of not holding Dr. Anthony Fauci accountable for exceeding his authority during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these criticisms, Ramaswamy maintained that Trump sets a high bar and cares about national unity.
Ramaswamy has also gained attention for his plans to dismantle the “woke agenda” and “climate religion” by eliminating federal agencies like the Department of Education and the FBI. He has promised to replace them with new agencies built from scratch.
He also aims to warn Americans about the “short-term pain” they must endure to decouple themselves from China.
Ramaswamy, who is estimated to be worth $700 million, founded Roivant Sciences and Strive Asset Management. He has not disclosed how much of his fortune he plans to spend on his campaign. Other Republican presidential candidates for 2024 include Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Mike Pompeo.
