In a radical departure from the comics, “The Walking Dead” abruptly killed off Sebastian, the pampered son of Governor Milton (Teo Rapp-Olsson).
In episode 18 of season 11, “A New Deal,” Sebastian is bitten on the neck by a zombie and dies slowly surrounded by Commonwealth inhabitants who refuse to assist him.
In contrast to the comic, Sebastian dies on the “TWD” show.

It’s a major surprise for comic enthusiasts. In the series by Robert Kirkman, Rick Grimes is killed by Sebastian, who shoots him while he is vulnerable in bed.
Since Sebastian’s entrance on the program, viewers have pondered who could be the recipient of Rick’s infamous comedy death. Unless it will be remixed in future episodes, the answer appears to be no one.
This is good news for Ross Marquand, who portrays Aaron on the series.
Marquand recently told Insider via Zoom that Rick’s death in the “The Walking Dead” comic was a “very poor” method of murder. I’m delighted they did not go that path.
Since Rick (Andrew Lincoln) left the show in 2018, many have feared that Aaron may have the same humorous demise as Rick. At this stage in the comic, Aaron has an uncanny resemblance to Rick due to his missing arm and lengthy beard.
Once Aaron lost his arm and gained a beard on “The Walking Dead,” viewers began to believe that he was a potential candidate for Rick’s comic demise.

Before the final season of “The Walking Dead” was announced, future seasons were planned. Marquand responded, “No, that was never actually addressed, at least with me,” when asked if there were ever plans for Aaron to leave in the same manner as Rick.
Marquand then remarked, quite unexpectedly, “I die significantly differently than in the comic.”
Marquand, ever the prankster, made it difficult to determine whether or not he was being serious.
After a brief pause, Marquand stated that he never discussed the possibility of Rick’s comedic death with showrunner Angela Kang.
He stated, “This was never addressed.” At least Angela never discussed this with me.

Aaron’s death before the conclusion of the show would be unexpected.
He survives “The Walking Dead” and spends his remaining days with Jesus. This character was eliminated from the show some seasons ago.
But, as we’ve seen many times, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has made many detours from the comic, and it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for Aaron to sacrifice himself if it meant the survival of Gracie or Alexandria.
The last episodes of “The Walking Dead” run on AMC on Sundays at 9 p.m. Here, you can follow our coverage.
