Swedish pop star Loreen is set to perform at the Eurovision final in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on 13 May 2022.
She is considered by many to be the favourite to win, particularly following her show-stopping performance at the semi-final.
Born Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui in Stockholm, the singer’s family are Moroccan Berber immigrants from the Atlas Mountains.
Loreen won Eurovision in 2012 with her hit song Euphoria, and is representing Sweden for a second time this year with her new track, Tattoo.
Loreen has previously won Sweden’s major music competition, Melodifestivalen, twice, and came fourth in the Swedish Idol competition in 2004.
She has also released two studio albums, 19 singles and toured twice.
Loreen’s 2012 Eurovision-winning track Euphoria became a hit across Europe, topping the charts in Austria, Finland, Germany, Ireland and Norway, and reaching number three in the UK.
Her new single, Tattoo, is a pop anthem inspired by her heritage and a celebration of nature.
Eurovision fans have praised Loreen’s performance and have predicted she will win the competition for a second time.
Eurovision has seen some controversy in recent years, including allegations of vote-rigging and political bias.
However, the event is still one of the most watched television shows in the world, with millions tuning in to watch the final.
For Loreen, performing in Eurovision is an opportunity to showcase her music to a global audience and reaffirm her status as a pop superstar.
