Woman surrenders herself for arrest after assault

A second “Green Goblin” gang member who is suspected of assaulting and robbing two adolescent subway riders handed herself in to police on Saturday, only to be released on supervised release.

Dariana Peguero, 26, was the fourth victim of the attack that occurred on October 2 in the midst of a packed Times Square subway station.

Before being released, she was charged with felony robbery, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig.

The same accusation was brought against three more goblins who surrendered themselves in last week: Ciante Alston, 26, Emily Soto, 34, and Mariam Issouf. All three were later freed.

Alston and Soto have each been arrested twice, while Peguero has been detained nine times before.

The four were a member of a sizable group of unruly women who were seen on camera robbing and assaulting two 19-year-old females in an unwarranted altercation that spilled over from a subway vehicle onto the platform. The ladies were dressed in neon green spandex bodysuits.

Police are searching for additional gang members in order to identify their participation, according to Essig, even though they were the only ones in the group sought for felony robbery.

According to Essig, all four suspects live in Long Island City’s Queensbridge Houses.

Issouf was the first person to be named and the first to give herself in; during her court appearance last week, her lawyer adamantly maintained her innocence.

He told his client as they were leaving court, according to the New York Post, “She did nothing wrong.”

She didn’t attack any of the victims, and she can be heard on film stating, “I don’t want any part of this. Let’s leave.”

Issouf allegedly “tried to help the victim,” according to Russo, who also claimed that she had no prior convictions.

At the Times Square station, the assault started at two in the morning.

The group of neon green-clad ladies rushed down the station steps as the adolescent victims were waiting on the metro platform.

According to authorities, the ladies had been recording a TikTok video near Times Square before the altercation.

The gang was “loud and aggressive,” according to one of the girls’ moms, and the teenagers retreated and opted to board a separate subway car, but the ladies streamed into their vehicle.

Essig stated, “One of the females ran into the other.” “It simply became worse and spilled into the train.” One of [the suspects] pulled off the handbag carrying the victim’s ID as the altercation got out of hand.

The mother of one of the victims said that there had been no previous verbal contact. I’ve seen police video in which my daughter and her friend can be seen conversing and joking while standing on the station. They pushed my kid and her buddy, almost like they were being bullied.

They bum rushed them, were my daughter’s exact words. I inquired, “Why? Have you spoken up? She told the site, “I wish I did because then there would be a rationale for what happened to me.”

The two adolescents were repeatedly kicked, punched, and tossed about the train car during the violent and unprovoked brawl, which was captured on camera and shared to Reddit. Bystanders saw the event unfold but did nothing to stop it or provide assistance.

Instead of phoning 911, they made a video. Being my mother, I find it really upsetting that this is the society we live in.

“My daughter is genuinely being beaten while all these onlookers simply stood there,” the mother said. If someone had dialed 911, maybe police would have arrived more quickly, the mother speculated.

Before leaving the scene, the team grabbed the girls’ wallet, phone, and credit cards.

Thank goodness my daughter is present. So much worse might have happened. She said, “These folks belong in cages. “Animals should be kept in cages.” Set a good example for them.

Both young ladies had medical treatment for their wounds, which included bruising on their faces, bite marks, bruises across one girl’s stomach and legs, and concussions.

One of the victims came home for her birthday over the weekend from her college in Florida.
