As a result of several people mistaking Liz Trussell for the next prime minister on Twitter, including Sweden’s prime minister, she is now enjoying some notoriety.
After Boris Johnson’s successor was revealed yesterday, Ms. Trussell seems to have claimed the Twitter account @Liztruss before the new PM, whose handle is @trussliz. As a result, congrats were sent to the incorrect person.
Even Sweden’s Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson sent the incorrect Liz a tweet of support before quickly deleting it, but not before Ms Trussell sarcastically responded.
“Congratulations to Liz Truss, who will become UK Prime Minister. We shall keep working closely and extensively together, Sweden and the UK. Important for our economy, people, and security,” stated Sweden’s prime minister.
“I’m anticipating a visit soon! Ms. Trussell’s response was to get the meatballs ready.

Another person who tweeted to Liz Truss with the phrase “still doesn’t understand it” was Caroline Lucas.
She blasted Liz Truss, writing, “@LizTruss still doesn’t get it – Boris Johnson did *not* get Brexit done, his several errors over Covid cost countless lives, & he exits having soiled his post.”
Meanwhile, she ran for office as a right-wing ideologue and will lead in that capacity, which is disastrous for everyone.

Ms. Trussell seemed to find humour in the situation as she jokedly prepared to see the Queen and sent playful answers.
She said, “Me and Queen Liz would deffo be besties.”
One Twitter user congratulated @LizTruss, writing: good work.
“Show them all that a WOMAN is the best guy for the job.”
Preach sister, Ms. Trussell retorted.
Additionally, she stated: “Just getting ready to go up to Balmoral!” awaiting the opportunity to meet the Corgis.
Yesterday, members voted to affirm Miss Truss as the Conservative Party’s leader after she defeated Rishi Sunak by a margin of 57:43.
She made a promise to “deliver, deliver, deliver” in her victory speech.

Today, Liz Truss “stands full-square behind” every expenditure commitment she made during the Tory leadership contest, according to Chief Secretary to the Treasury Simon Clarke.

Everyone wants to see the Conservative Party come together and attract talent from all around the party, that is a fact.
The circumstances “demands that we come together and that we rule in the national interest,” he said, adding that he was “confident Liz would be gracious in triumph.”
