Following his standout performance in the 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the 2023 AFCON round of 16, Lookman emphasized the team’s readiness for the tough task ahead.
Super Eagles’ Journey in AFCON 2023
The Super Eagles commenced the 2023 AFCON with a draw against Equatorial Guinea on January 14 but quickly silenced critics with a remarkable 1-0 victory over tournament hosts Ivory Coast on January 18.
Subsequently, Lookman and his teammates secured their place in the third round by defeating Guinea-Bissau 1-0 on January 22.
